Academy of the Sacred Heart
Sr. Melanie A. Guste, RSCJ, Headmistress

“The Academy of the Sacred Heart is more than just a place, or even a school. For students and families, alumnae and community partners, Sacred Heart is a rich experience of community and culture, a formidable landmark of faith and learning, a pathway for growth, and an adventure to savor for a lifetime,” says Headmistress Sr. Melanie A. Guste, RSCJ, a Religious of the Sacred Heart who holds a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems, and master’s degrees in Educational Administration and Applied Spirituality.

Our school is a community where girls from age 1 through 12th grade grow through relationships, create lasting connections with others and benefit from a truly global network of more than 150 Sacred Heart schools in 41 countries around the world. Entering through the gates of “Sacré Coeur” as infants and leaving as women, Sacred Heart students grow in confidence and become courageous, Christ-centered leaders who change the world.

Beary Cherry Tree
Kim Mumphrey, Early Childhood Coordinator and Four-Year-Old Teacher

Beary Cherry Tree is one of the most unique child development centers in the New Orleans area. We are a five-star quality child development center, which means low ratios and high quality for the families we serve. Our center promotes positive relationships while guiding your children in their physical, mental, social and emotional growth. Kim Mumphrey, our Early Childhood Coordinator/Four-Year-Old Teacher, mentors the staff to ensure the best methods are used to assist the children at Beary Cherry Tree as they flourish and grow. Kim collaborates with many organizations and schools while continuing professional development to bring current information to the staff. Our staff implements research-based assessments and aligns our curriculum to meet the individual needs of our children, while guiding them through each developmental stage of growth to set a strong foundation.

Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans
Pauline Dides, Head of School and Chevalier of the Order of the Academic Palms

Founded in 1998, Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year with experienced faculty from all over the world and a richly diverse student body.

Now serving more than 260 students from 18 months through 8th grade, Ecole Bilingue is Louisiana’s first and only private multilingual school accredited by the French Ministry of Education and the Louisiana Department of Education. Our mission is to provide a strong and distinctive education by combining the best of French and American academics.

Ecole Bilingue is set up on the principle that the best way to ensure academic excellence is through a variety of proven teaching methods in a nurturing and vibrant environment. Our beautiful campus includes three buildings specifically designed for early childhood, elementary and middle school students, as well as a large green space and playground.

Pauline Dides joined Ecole Bilingue in 2006 and became Head of School in 2009. As part of a very forward-thinking leadership team, Pauline plays a major role in creating innovative educational projects and new teaching methods. She successfully implemented the use of new technology in the classroom, as well as the use of special teaching spaces that encourage student creativity. Dides was the driving force in securing accreditation for the school’s Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 programs. In addition to its accreditations, Ecole Bilingue is affiliated with several global networks, including the AEFE, NAIS, AFSA and Mission Laïque Française.

Atonement Lutheran School
Doug Molin, Principal
Atonement Lutheran School was founded with one objective in mind: to provide an excellent Christian education and loving environment to families in the metro New Orleans area. Our mission statement exemplifies this: “Atonement Lutheran School functions as an arm of the Atonement Lutheran Church community of faith, and demonstrates God’s love in Christ so that children, parents, faculty, staff, and congregational members might grow as persons and as Christian disciples.”
Atonement is a place where families can grow together in all facets of life. We are smallenough to give parents and children the attention they deserve, but have the faculty, staff and facilities to provide a great education and school life experience. From the littlest threes in our Preschool to the eighth graders preparing for high school, Atonement is a place where the teachers, faculty and staff passionately believe in providing personalized attention, while maintaining a superb educational climate and creating memorable experiences.

I continue to hear feedback from area high schools, saying that our students are amongst the most – if not the best – prepared in their student populations. We also offer many opportunities for our children to be involved in extra-curricular activities, including a year-round sports program, scouting, talent shows, and a robust music program that has several choirs, a band and a musical every Spring. Families are welcome to schedule a private tour or attend one of our two open houses and learn more about our wonderful school and all it has to offer.
