The Abbott ID NOW COVID-19 Molecular Test was deemed safe and effective by the FDA and given fast-track approval as part of its Emergency Use Authorization program.

New Orleans area residents that want to obtain a rapid COVID-19 test must first be screened at an LCMC Health Urgent Care clinic to ensure they qualify based on strict CDC requirements.

If the patient meets the criteria, they will be referred to a designated LCMC Health Urgent Care facility for same-day or next-day rapid COVID-19 testing. Important to note, the urgent care clinics in Gretna and Algiers are temporarily closed and will not seeing any patients at this time.

The new Abbott ID NOW Rapid COVID-19 Molecular Test was developed for use on the same testing platform LCMC Health Urgent Care uses to diagnose patients for the flu and strep throat. Over the years, Abbott’s rapid testing system has proven to be accurate and reliable.

LCMC Health Urgent Care is part of the Premier Health family of urgent care clinics selected to participate as an Abbott ID NOW COVID-19 Rapid Test site.
