Ways NOLA is helping furloughed government workers

As the government shutdown continues, New Orleans businesses, and residents, are stepping up to help those government workers in need. Here are businesses that are helping. Our suggestion: support these businesses by going to them, and if a furloughed worker is there, chip in what you can!

Here are some businesses in and around New Orleans that are doing what they can;

Crescent City Veterinarian

524 Jefferson Ave. New Orleans

Keeping pets safe – It’s a bummer when your job is on “paws” – CCV is offering a free month of flea and heartworm preventative for all furloughed employee’s pets! Just show our front desk staff your government ID. New clients accepted – if you are a new client email shannon@crescentcityvet.com to set up an appointment.

Ruby Slipper Cafe

There are 13 locations in Louisiana, Alabama and Florida, with three locations in New Orleans, 315 S. Broad St., 200 Magazine St., and 1005 Canal St. and they are all offering free meals to furloughed Federal employees. We think their instagram post speaks volumes-them AND about New Orleans residents!
