2021 “Un-Mardi Gras” Break Camps Around NOLA

Even though Mardi Gras isn’t happening this year, many schools are still taking their February breaks!

Here are some terrific options for keeping the kiddos occupied while school is out. Note: Schedules subject to change. Check with camps directly for specifics.  

Adventure Quest Laser Tag Mardi Gras Camp 
1200 S. Clearview Parkway, Suite 1106, Harahan  
Ages: 5–12

Campers will blast through the ancient Mayan ruins in laser tag, crash through the jungle in bumper cars, and explore the ancient temple in a round of mini golf.    

Big Easy Sportsplex All Sports Mardi Gras Camp

Ages: 5–12 years old, boys and girls

Camps will provide instruction, drills, and games in multiple sports, athletic games, and competitions that range from traditional to creative physical activities that blend movement, athleticism, and fun. Strength, balance and speed will be incorporated into all daily activities for growing athletes who are ready to take their ability to the next level.  

CKA Motion Activity Camp

Ages: 4–12 years old

Students will participate in ½-hour sessions of Parkour, martial arts, tumbling, and kickboxing lessons throughout the day. The rest of the day is fun-filled with physical and mental games, arts and crafts, and other themed activities.  

Culinary Kids: Mardi Gras Camp

Ages: 5–12

Kids will cook their own breakfast, lunch, snacks, and desserts, and also will enjoy gardening, science experiments, and great fun with friends. All experiences will safely follow COVID precautions.  

GNO STEM Virtual Mardi Gras Workshop  
Grades: (suggested )3–7

Sponsored by Chevron, this workshop will offer students and teachers the opportunity to grow STEM skills, knowledge and become more aware of career opportunities in a variety of STEM fields including, but not limited to Robotics and Engineering. Participants can expect a fun and busy two days which offers a virtual “hands-on” STEM learning, team building and critical skills in reasoning and analytical thinking that will offer students important career skills.

JCC Metairie – Mardi Gras Mini Camp

When school is out, the JCC is in! Join us for a camp-style day at the Metairie J. Our staff will guide participants through an active day filled with fun group activities, creative arts, athletic games, and more.

Jefferson Parish Recreation Department’s Holiday Camp

Junction Place Sports All Sports Camp at Loyola University

Campers will participate in basketball, baseball, football, kickball, and soccer, and other games designed to promote cooperation, patience, and teamwork. Mornings will include a fitness component designed to increase overall functional movement.

The YMCA is the place to be when kids are out of school! Kids will have the opportunity to play sports, create arts and crafts, and make new friends. School’s Out Camp offers a safe and engaging atmosphere for your kids so you can have peace of mind while you work. At the Y, we’re here for families!  

Lolo’s Studio Mardi Gras Day Camp

At Lolo’s, they are going to make the most of no parades with lots of Mardi Gras inspired art: tie day, jewelry making, slime, bead art, glitter masks and more. We’ll celebrate our crazy with lots of fun games, art, yoga and mindfulness.
