I’m Tired

It’s November, which means the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is here. As always, I am sitting here wondering what happened to the last 10 months. I know I have been around doing stuff, but, seriously, what happened? We wrapped up our first nine weeks of school last month, and I’m very impressed how well my ninth grader finished.
Soccer is coming to an end for the fall season, and dance season is about to kick off. There is no such thing as downtime in our house.

As a mother, I’ve found myself changing throughout the years. With my daughter I was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom. When she was in preschool, I was pregnant with twins. This is when you either became the room mom or stepped back and let the other moms handle it. I obviously stepped back because, one, I was exhausted from growing tiny humans, and, two, I thought there was no place for me being a room mom–especially when the parties rolled
around. Some of the gifts these moms made were amazing! They were either monogrammed or cricuted and definitely over the top.

Fast forward many years (well, not that many), I am at the elementary school as much as I possibly can. I have gotten to know all of these kids throughout the years, and they run to give me hugs and tell me all about what is going on with them. I’ve also made tons of new friends with all these boy moms and love every second of it.

Life is exhausting, but I manage to make it all work. Having a great group of friends and a support system is the only way I can get through life. No matter how busy I am with my life, I will always make room for room mom duties or any other things that my kids may need. As I tell my husband, it makes my heart happy, and that is all that matters.
