A Kid-Friendly NYE in NOLA, 2019!

New Year’s Eve can be crazy, but there are also a lot of crazy-fun ways for kids to celebrate! Here are some of the events going on this year.

 


New Year’s Eve Countdown to Noon
Louisiana Children’s Museum, 420 Julia St. Celebrate the New Year at Louisiana Children’s Museum. Make a festive noisemaker and one-of-a-kind paper bag party hat. Enjoy live music and a colorful countdown to 2019 at the stroke of Noon — complete with a confetti toss and balloon release in the Museum atrium. General Admission: $12/person, Members: $8/person. Pre-registration is strongly recommended.  9:30 am–3 pm.


Cinderella’s New Year’s Masquerade Ball
English Turn Golf & Country Club, 1 Clubhouse Dr. Join Cinderella, Prince Charming and their Royal Court as they ring in the new year with dancing, food, drinks and fun! Come dressed in your best Royal Formal attire. Enjoy a New Year’s countdown to Noon with a dance party to follow. Ticket prices start at $40/person. 10 am-12:30 pm.


Rockin’ Noon Year’s Eve Balloon Drop
We Rock the Spectrum, 1401 West Esplanade Ave., Kenner. Enjoy an easy breezy Noon Year’s Eve Celebration! Play, snack, and countdown to noon! Head home after a fun balloon drop and balloon bounce (trampoline style) and head home for a good nap. Advance cost: $10 must purchase by 12/30. $12 at the door. Membership passes welcome. 10 am-1 pm.


Noon Year’s Eve Bash
Children’s Museum of St. Tammany, 21404 Koop Drive, Mandeville. Enjoy New Year’s themed activities, fabulous food featuring Creole Tomateaux food truck, DJ, a coffee and hot chocolate bar, face painting and a balloon artist. When the clock strikes noon, make sure you’re ready for the Balloon Drop which will include fun-filled surprises! $14/person. Children under 12 months do not need a ticket. Zoo Year’s Eve

Audubon Zoo, 6500 Magazine St. Audubon Zoo invites families and kids of all ages to celebrate the new year in style with music, games and prizes. Pick up a party hat and noise maker, grab a Pepsi drink for toasting, and countdown to Noon to ring in the New Year! 10:30 am-12:30 pm.


Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year’s Eve Parade
A Mardi Gras-style parade with floats, bands and other participants, will entertain fans young and old prior to the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl. The parade will begin at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street at approximately 2 pm. The parade will travel through the French Quarter up Decatur Street along the Mississippi River, passing iconic landmarks such as The Old US Mint, the French Market, Cafe du Monde and Jackson Square. At approximately 2:30 pm., the Parade will pass the WDSU stage at the Allstate Fan Fest on Decatur Street inside the Jax Brewery parking lot, where WDSU has set up for live coverage of the parade between 2-5 pm. – all performers will do a two-minute show at this location. Noon Year’s Eve Kick Off to 2019
Dave & Buster’s, 1200 Poydras St. Dave & Buster’s is hosting two family-friendly events on New Year’s Eve. For more information, call 504.226.3207.
The first event is a Breakfast Buffet including scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, coffee and tea.$10 power card for ticket games and unlimited video game play (non-ticket games). Ginger ale toast at Noon Year’s with balloon drop celebration. $28.76/person. 11 am-2 pm.
The second event is an exciting and fun way for you and your family to ring in the New Year with loads of excitement which combines all the food and fun that guests have grown to love at Dave & Buster’s. Ginger ale toast at 7 pm with balloon drop celebration. $28.76/person. 5-8 pm.
