Education Through Imagination

Educators and administrators are gearing up for the inaugural KID smART’s Arts & Education Conference, slated to take place June 25-28, 2024, at the Higgins Hotel in New Orleans. This groundbreaking event marks the 25th anniversary of KID smART, a milestone celebrated with a conference aimed at bridging the gap between arts and education.

“We really wanted to do something that was mission-aligned for us but something that everyone could benefit from,” Elise Gallinot-Goldman, the Executive Director of KID smART shares. “Bringing more arts to more educators is the direction we chose.”

The KID smART Arts & Education Conference was designed to create a platform for educators throughout the city and region to harness the power of arts in education. Gallinot-Goldman and her team will empower teachers with the tools needed to enhance learning for students. The event offers specialized tracks addressing critical needs identified by educators, including literacy, social and emotional learning, integration basics, and leadership development. Each morning, you’ll dive deep into your chosen track’s sessions.

In the afternoon, participants can choose to attend hands-on workshops led by esteemed partners like the Preservation Hall Foundation and Whole Village Art Therapy, providing practical strategies to implement arts-based learning in the classroom. Additionally, there will be a cocktail reception with live music and networking opportunities to connect with a diverse group of artists and educators.

For those eager to join, tickets grant access to all four conference days, complete with breakfast and lunch provided each day. Don’t miss out on this unparalleled opportunity to elevate your teaching practice and enrich the lives of your students through the transformative power of the arts.
