St. Charles Catholic High School is a college-prep co-ed institution serving nearly 400 students from grades 8 through 12 in the River Parishes of Southeast Louisiana. As a technology leader in the region, SCC offers all its students an Apple device for educational use with our 1:1 Apple Program.  SCC educates our students in a supportive, diverse, Christ-centered environment while inspiring them to excel in faith, academics, extracurricular activities, and service.

These Comets really know how to fly high and shine bright.

St. Charles Catholic believes that our primary concern is the Catholic education of our students.  In our service to the young men and women of the region, we are attempting to provide an atmosphere which emphasizes Catholic values while challenging students to become self-disciplined, self-motivated, and well-adjusted individuals.

Our college-prep curriculum strives to meet emotional, physical, and social needs of our students.  Our academic program is designed to develop the thinking skills, reasoning skills, and decision-making skills necessary for our students to grow into maturity, capable of positively contributing principles of a democratic society while respecting the rights and dignity of all individuals.
By establishing an atmosphere where Christian values are practiced, taught, and developed, it is our desire to model a Christian community for our students so that it can be continued throughout life. SCC’s goals and daily priorities support our philosophy of developing the whole person.

In 1948, our school was formed in Destrehan, Louisiana, and in 1978 it moved to its current location in LaPlace. While many things have changed, including a recently renovated and expanded school building and new campus facilities, the standard of excellence in education continues to grow as we move forward with new momentum.

Spiritually, our students participate in such activities as World Youth Day, the March for Life in Washington, D.C., as well as class retreats at the beginning of each school year. A dedicated team of senior students serves as a “Peer Ministry Team,” along side our campus minister and co-chaplains, to enrich the spiritual offerings available to our students. Retreats, weekly lunchtime prayer services, seasonal Adoration nights, and weekly evening meetings for Christian reflection on campus provide a diverse and fertile foundation of prayer and spirituality in our school which strengthens the work of our accomplished religion department.
