The sun is about to be out in full force so you know what that means! It’s time to dust off the sunscreen that you may have tucked away for the cold season. It’s very important to wear plenty of sunscreen this summer, even when it appears cloudy, especially if you are living in high elevation areas. You don’t need a reminder message telling you about all of the potential harmful things that can happen if you decide NOT to use sunscreen or that you don’t really need it. In today’s age, we are connected to so much information because of our smartphones. You can easily look up why using sunscreen is beneficial. 

When it comes to your young children, they may not understand that. They will happily run off to the pool or go play outside without even thinking about how not using sunscreen will affect their short and long-term health. It is up to you as a parent to take that responsibility. Remember that this summer and protect your children. Set the example by applying sunscreen on yourselves then making sure you are taking the necessary steps to protect your children as well. You may not need a lecture on the pros of using sunscreen, but your kids do. Don’t neglect this very valuable lesson this summer!
